Description
The Sandoway House Nature Center is located in a historic 1936 beachfront home in Delray Beach, Florida. The Center offers a glimpse into South Florida's fragile marine and freshwater environments through educational exhibits and programs.
Perfect for small children as well as programs for school aged children and opportunities for community hours for middle school and high school students. Animal sponsorship are available for our Florida Box Turtle, Gopher Tortoise, Nurse Sharks, Macaws, Owls, Snakes, Coral Reef Fish, Lizards, Toads and our Alligator.
Summer camp, school field trips and groups are offered programs such as: All about Amphibians!
Learn about metamorphosis, characteristics, behavior, camouflage, adaptations, conservation, native species and more through live frogs, toads and artifacts such as: jaws, skeletons, etc. and frog and toad calls!
Creepy, Crawly Insects! Learn about adaptations, native species, habitats, conservation and characteristics of many different insects through live and mounted insect displays, bug eye demonstration, metamorphosis displays, antennae, mouth part demonstration and garden tour (field trip only)! Plants Learn about native plant species, photosynthesis, plants parts, habitat, growth and products.
