Description
Founded in 1911, the Delray Beach Police Department serves a population of approximately65,000 within the fifteen square miles of the City of Delray Beach. Headquarters is located adjacent to the city's vibrant downtown business and historic districts. The staff -- over one hundred and fifty sworn officers and eighty civilian employees -- comprises the Office of the Chief, Support Services, and Operations.
The department takes an aggressive approach to fighting crime with a well-educated and well-trained staff and sophisticated technology. With more than 100 officers patrolling the city, foot and bicycle patrols have been implemented to put officers closer to the community and to solicit civic support. DBPD is dedicated to protecting and connecting with the community it serves!
