Location: Class will take place in Studio 22 located behind Prosperity Brewers in Boca Raton. The address is 4160 NW 1st Ave #22, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Parking is located nextdoor at Flamingo House and on the grass berm in front. You will park and walk around to the back.

Description: This is your introduction to stand up comedy! In this workshop students of all experience levels will learn stand up comedy writing including joke structure and performance techniques with the goal of becoming confident and comfortable on stage. This class is specially tailored towards both beginning comics who want to learn where to begin and professionals who want to brush up on the basic fundamentals of stand-up comedy in a fun, safe environment! By the end of this class you’ll have a 3-minute comedy set and a foundation from which to build. In this class you’ll learn the following:– Basic Joke Structure– Joke Writing Techniques– Stage Presence– Basic Performance Techniques– Do’s and Don’ts

Homework: Please reply with your answers to the following and we will show you how to write jokes from that.

3. Something about your family or relationship dynamic
4. Something about your job
5. Anything else you want to mention that is on your mind
Please bring a notepad and writing instrument. Any food or beverage you'd like to bring as well. We will also teach you how to take your funny ideas and turn them into jokes fit for the stage.
